The Lords Luncheon?

Thursday October 16, 2025 will be the first annual Lord’s Luncheon and networking Mixer; during one of the most extravagant times of the year for the Piedmont Triad, WSSU Homecoming.

Over the summer, Darrell Q. Slade, class of 2017, came up with the initiative to bring together the young nobles from the Carolinas who are doing prolific works in the Providence to host a free luncheon and networking event structured around a panel discussion on the “State of the Street Economy’ especially during homecoming, the shift is here therefore the conversation is needed.
“ During my time in undergrad I made my most effective connections by networking at events like the one we are hosting, this is how I was able to brush shoulders with Robert F. Smith, at Columbia University School of Business, his alma mater; why not bring that same energy back to the House of Rams. The key to success is exposure to different realities”

Ibn Darrel, as he prefers to be called, which in Arabic is the ‘son of’ Darrel, is very passionate about creating effective change in the world and the best way to sprout change is to support the young nobles, a term he coiled for the typical “young niggas”. Therefore he assembled together a group of young nobles throughout the Carolinas who exemplify true lordship to create new avenues of opportunity for our people and to restore the Carolina Providence. #righteous

Unity is the solution on multiple levels from the elder generation & the younger ones, men and women, streets and suburbs, left v right , norf and souf, et Al the goal is still the same for me, to bridge the gap! ‘

This event will be a collaborative between our Publishing House No More Suits and Darrell Q. Slade Practices LP, Only Godz Allowed, 1Percent, Street Economics, and BSM Services on campus the C.G. O’Kelly Library. Since this event is completely free to the public, we are asking participants to contribute a book from our registry to the C’G O’Kelly library.
Yaadin (CLT) is a recent alum of the university as well, c/o’2024 he too is very involved in shifting and liberating the minds of the next generation. This past August he had a book back drive in Charlotte where he provided young ladies with a copy of late and honorable Assata Shakur book and the young nobles with the autobiography of Malcolm X. Yaadin is hosting a class on creative writing during the event and those who participate could win a 100 gift card.
This is important because it is rare to see a group of young educated black men coming together and pushing something outside of the typical party culture. We bringing the culture but when you leave you get to take what you got from this event back with you, something long lasting, something sustainable. It also going to teach you something to where it can be a light force to where you can bring the information back to your people back home, you can go tell you classmates about what you experienced, et all. It’s a need for it in our community, it is not a lot of strong resources to where we are taught where you come from, who you are, why do you need to continue the works of the ancestors. Don (CLT) is another forward thinker, architect, and the founder of Street Economics; he just got back from campaigning in Guatemala, and he was talking about how all the Mayans on the walls looked just like him and how inspirational it was and how he was treated like a true monarch out there. Don is changing the minds of the people through the SE community, in positive way. Johnique the God (Aiken, SC) just launched his brand Only Godz Allowed. Which promotes self mastery and divine purpose through the codes through the messages in his clothing. Johnique is set to release his first book as well, entitled ‘The Seven Codes of God Body Alchemy' that’s currently are in final stages of the publishing process. Johnique will be presenting on ways to preserve the family dynamic through private enterprise and Independent Contracting → Practical takeaways on building independent work streams, a session worth your time, we have to learn how to source our own income through independent contracting .
1percent Rich (CLT) is an innovater producer and forward thinker who survived cancer at an early age and is a testimony to how traditional indigenous herbs and healing practices can save your life. Rich will be at the Lord’s luncheon discuss his journey and co hosting the creative writing breakout session.
In a recent interview about the event, the Lords spoke about the library in Bagdad, the House of Wisdom, how it was the cultural center for the region, that the people practically lived there, discussing world history, crafting new forms of mathematics, coordinating new routes for commerce, etc. This is how Ibn Darrel sees the O’kelly as a cultural center, this is the shift that's happening and its in alignment with the aims for the library. They recently just hosted the legendary 9th wonder.

‘The source is knowledge and knowledge is preserved in the books housed in the libraries, therefore we must get the people to read but in order to get them to read we have to bring them to the source, the library so it can be an effective resource center. It really is liberating to be able to build with the O’kelly, their staff deserves all the credit, they are the real game changers.’ -Darrell Q. Slade on the essence of hosting events at the library.
The prophet Noble Drew Ali who himself was a Carolinian said that our generation would be the ones to become world leaders, who will make a real change, its all happening, the age of Aquarius is the house of knowledge and information, that’s why this luncheon is being held at a library, to feed your mind body and soul!
